New iPhone/old laptop

Hi, i'm running a laptop on Windows Vista,with the latest (compatible) version of iTunes (12.1.3.6)
i also have an iPhone SE (one week old), that WON'T work with iTunes because "it requires a newer version of iTunes, go to www.itunes.com/uk to download the latest version of itunes" ..... However, when i click to do this,it gives me the exact same version of itunes that i already have, as you probably can tell, i am literally going round in circles.
Apart from "yeah, buy a new laptop" does anyone have any suggestions?

Unfortunately, the only path to the newer/newest versions of iTunes is to move to at minimum, Windows 7. You can do a search of this community and you'll find lots of threads that deal with iTunes/iOS compatibility issues since iOS 10 was first introduced. And I would expect before long, we'll find ourselves facing issues between iOS 11.x and iTunes version 12.6.2.20.
