Heart rate during sleep

I would like to know if the Apple Watch Series 1 will measure heart rate while I am sleeping and record my heart rate

Apple Watch takes regular background heart rate measurements, including if it is worn during sleep. However, it will not specifically report your rate as recorded during sleep, nor do the built-in apps on Apple Watch (any model) currently include sleep tracking features.
