NAS failed

Well my 3TB NAS failed back in May taking my songs with it. Only part of it was backed up to my so called redundant NAS drive. So, now I want to do 2 things on my newly replaced NAS. First, how can I save the original library of songs data (song list) so down the road I can try to rebuild it, assuming I still have the original cds. Second, how do I setup a new library and have the sw discover all the songs from scratch. I am going to copy over the songs I do have on the redundant drive as well as new music I have bought since the drive failed . I had had issues with the Itunes library anyway, in that there were far more songs in the NAS HD than were showing up in Itunes so this is an opportunity to fix that. Just not clear on what it takes. Thanks for any answers.

See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for the files that might be on your devices.

See Empty/corrupt iTunes library after upgrade/crash to review your older library files. You might have one that lists more tracks than the one you access now.

See Re: click on songs and "can't find original file" for advice on relinking a library to media.

See Re: Deleting large number of duplicates in iTunes for advice on duplicates, likely if you recover tracks from multiple sources.

See Make a split library portable for advice on library organization. Recommend you keep primary copy of the library on an external drive, use NAS for backup.

See Backup your iTunes for Windows library with SyncToy for a backup method.
