Column view order is random in open dialog

It doesn't matter which application. Whenever I use the file open/save dialog, the existing files and folders are in a random order (at least it does not make any sense to me).

Does anyone know how to change the settings? It is really annoying, since I can't really find files.

In the Open dialogue click the arrangement button and then select the order you would like to see the files.

This is not working. First four files are order E, R, C, G. And then the folders. It is the same behaviour as None.

Firstly those are hidden files, that you have elected to show, and thus they transparent.

Check your Finder preferences, you have probably checked the Keep Folders on top when sorting by name.

They are grey cause they do not match the pattern of the file I am trying to open or not recognised by the program. They are not hidden. In this case, it was Safari, which can't read those files, except for the PDF.
