iwatch os4 and notification icons

hi all,

every time I recieve a push notification on my apple watch (version 1 with watchOs4), I do not see the icon of the app in the notification preview. Basically, it appears as a blank icon (like this: goo.gl/cr5WR3). It happens, for example, with Airmail app. Is this problem regarding the OS or the app? Does it mean that the app should be upgraded?

If updating to the latest available version of the third-party app does not resolve the issue, then I suggest that you contact the app developer to advise of them of the issue with their app notifications.
