Macbook Pro 10.12.6 Lost sound output choices

Thanks In advance:

System pref sound output choices disappeared, I tried zapping pram, resting SMC, Audio Midi nothing in list nor to add. Checked the Ear phone Jack for bad switch. NO luck. Tried deleting anything .plist associated with Audio, No luck. Tried to reinstall from 10.12.6 Combo updater, from My user and Root, neither helped. Called Apple... Senior Advisor suggested bad hardware.

Apple store confirmed software... and did a restore of the OS apparently from Apples Servers. I inquired how to do it as a end user... and was told it is no longer something an end user can do. Huh? Since OS 1.0 the end user could always do a clean system replace without wiping the Drive.

A) Does anyone know what specific .plist files Cache Files etc. control the list of sound output devices?

B) Any one know how to do a full OS restore in place for 10.12.6 or Later? This Being Most Important!!!
