Screensaver Timer Not Working with Audio?

Hi Guys,

I have a late 2013 Macbook Pro Retina 15", and I'm having a strange issue with the screensaver timer not triggering while any audio is being output from the Mac. If any music or audio is playing on the Macbook (I.e. a podcast, youtube video, iTunes or Spotify) the Mac will refuse to trigger the screensaver and will sit idle without ever triggering the screensaver or going to sleep with the audio playing. The screensaver works fine when I trigger it manually using an assigned hot-corner, and audio is uninterrupted when this is done.

When no audio is being output from the Mac, the screensaver works via the timer as normal (I.e. starts after 5 minutes).

This is pretty annoying as I play audio from the Macbook for hours each day and left unattended, so I'm worried about burn-in on the LCD display with the screen sitting idle for hours unless I manually put the screensaver on.

Any ideas on what preferences/permissions I may need to reset/fix to resolve this issue?
