iCloud Photo erased my photos after turning off

Recently I turned on iCloud Photo on my iPhone 6S (iOS 10.3.1), after a day none of my ~6000 photos were transferred to iCloud. I turned it off and on again, and when I looked at Photos app, there I saw 3000 of my photos were missing.

It has been 2 weeks and still none of my photos transferred to iCloud. It still says uploading the remaining 3000 of photos.

iCloud Restore does not have anything since nothing was uploaded.

Is there anyway to restore my images?

iCloud restore has nothing to do with the matter. If you are referring to what I think you might be (and that's by no means sure) that's for contacts and calendars etc.

You need to let things finish instead of turning them off and on all the time. iCloud photo library doesn't delete photos automatically.

Have you checked for a Recently Deleted album in Photos and at iCloud.com/Photos?

I know that iCloud restore does not have photos section, I checked whether it did contain anything, but no.

iCloud Photo Library did not delete my photos, as I said switching it off and on while saying 'Uploading' did erase half of my photos. And it still did not upload anything to the cloud since.

Photos have been completely deleted, opening around 15GB of space. iCloud.com/photos has nothing in it. Just empty.

Turning on/off iCloud photo library might cause things to take much longer, but it doesn't delete photos from the library or the camera roll, the only time it might appear to delete photos is from photo stream.

I guess there is a serious bug that erases camera roll photos if you disable iCloud. No explanation beyond this. 15GB of my photos are lost. I will look if I have a backup, but this makes me not to use iCloud at all. IMG_1372.PNGIMG_1373.PNG

There is no such bug, you have either deleted them yourself or don't fully understand what you have done. I have two phones I use as test phoned for testing answers I provide here, I have disabled iCloud photo library on them many times and haven't lost a single photo.

I totally understand what I am doing. I can't be deleting 15 GB of my photos and pretend here to be erased by iCloud. Also in my previous SS uploads, iCloud Photo has done nothing for 2 weeks.

OK

Yes, there is, because the exact same thing just happened to me. Contacted apple support but did not get any useful info. Lost 80 photos immediately after disabling icloud photo library. This is on a new phone. I guess I was lucky to disable it before it was too late. For all others coming to this thread: STAY AWAY FROM ICLOUD!!!! OP has ios 10.3.1 and this happened to my on ios 11. This bug is clearly still open.
