Why do movies stop downloading after 1.5 gigs

I am trying to download movies on my iPad but they stop after 1.4-1.5 gigs with 3.5 gigs left to go?

Plenty of memory, doesn't matter the movie, I have reset my iPad a few times.

not sure what to do next.
