I have 10.8.5 IOS on my Mac Air, need to upgrad...

I want to upgrade to newest IOS on my Macbook Air, I have 10.8.5 now.

Back up your data and download Sierra from the Mac App Store.

The easier solution is to update from the OS 10.8. Go to App Store in your dock. Search for new os or Sierra or 10.12. you need an ID Apple. Download and follow the guide.

Previously back up your computer with Time Machine and repair permission and test your hard drive with Disk Utility.
