glucometer function of apple watch?

Tim Cook mentioned in his launch of the apple watch series 3 a father who wrote in about using a glucometer function on his young daughter's watch. What app is that? I have one that works with my table and iPod (don't carry I phone), but have not found one that would function with the watch. I have a series 2. Anyone know what he was talking about?
