iMac A1224 Powers on to black screen with chime.

I just recently got a mid 2007 iMac A1224 and when I power it up I hear the chime but just a black screen. I put a Mac OS X Boot DVD in the SD and I can hear it spinning up. I pulled it apart and found that the diagnostic led 4 is not lighting up when I power on the mac. I read online that had something to do with a bad video card or logic board. I checked all the connections in the mac when I had it apart and found everything in good shape. I just like some help I got it for free but I didn't want to pour alot of money into buying a video card if something like the logic board was bad.
