Itunes no longer shows Apps

The unilateral decision by Apple to remove App management from iTunes is very frustrating. I used this as my main method to manage apps on my various devices. I don't see what the benefit is from removing this functionality from iTunes unless Apple is planning to phase it out altogether. As i can still manage music, films, tv programmes, podcasts and photos it seems remiss to have removed App management.
