How to delete "database" Cookie?

Trying to delete a cookie. I click"Preferences", then "Manage Website Data", then "Remove All". The cookies that have "cache" written under them disappear OK. But the cookies that have "database" written under them disappear and pop back up in a few seconds ! How do I get rid of them?

Those files are stored in

~/Library/Safari/Databases

Navigate to that folder and drag its contents to the Trash.

thanks. that was bugging the heck out of me.

Read this article : Safari for Mac: Manage cookies and website data using Safari

How do I navigate to Libraries?

IOW, I too am attempting to delete databases on my MacBook and I need to do as you've suggested but have no idea how or what to open to navigate to Library\Safari\database, etc. I know how to do it in Windows but I am new to Apple MacBooks. Thanks for any help!

Copy and Paste that line in the Finder's Go menu > Go to Folder... field.

~/Library/Safari/Databases

The backslash character is not used in macOS pathnames. Its use is reserved for other purposes.

Thank you.  I spent hours yesterday trying to figure this out.

this is not working for all database cookies, still can't get rid of many, any other suggestions?

As the 2nd article points out, they are capable of regenerating after deletion with files that go to many parts of the system.

Safari/Browsers – can’t delete cookies

Evercookie

Quit Safari.

In Finder go to Go menu and then Go to Folder.

Copy and paste this ~/Library/Safari/Databases.

Delete the contents of the folder.

Launch Safari again and check if all is ok.

If that doesn’t work, copy and paste this ~/Library/Safari/LocalStorage.

Delete the contents of the folder.

Then go to Safari/History and delete any entries for the related websites.

Test.

Thanks, got rid of a couple more.  Still some stubborn ones.

Thank you for your answer. This really bothered me for a long long time and I tried to search this answer, nerver worked out. Thank you for this question and the answer.

at first I deleted the database files from preferences and the database cookies remained and then went to the library folder and deleted the database folder and this did the trick. After launching safari again, the database folder was recreated. I assume the database cookies will begin to come back and will have to do this all over again. How come safari does not fix this issue?

Big thank you.I also spent hours at it. Great tip.

Thank You!!!
