Apple keynote 2017 video crashes imac retina

When I try to watch the Apple 2017 keynote on my iMac Retina (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014) macOS Sierra 10.12.6 and it will go into full sleep mode repeatedly until I force a power off and manage to cancel it automatically restarting Safari to start playing the video again.  I only have my preferences set to put the screens to sleep and the disk drives.  It is not set to put the entire computer into sleep mode.  When the video gets to the part where it shows, "Welcome to the Steve Jobs Theater" and they have a clip of Steve talking, it will get into this mode where the iMac goes to sleep, I press a key to wake it up and enter my password to unlock the iMac and I try to get to the Shutdown... menu before it goes to sleep again.  If I just hold the power button to force a power off, on restart/reboot it will start Safari again and start playing the video to get it in this mode again even though I have it set NOT to reopen any windows on a restart/reboot.  It is extremely difficult to get out of this situation!

When it first did this, I took it to my local Apple store where they ran dianostics and told me nothing was wrong.  This was before the Apple 2017 keynote came out and I wasn't able to reproduce the sporatic sleep loop.  They suggested wiping the boot drive, reinstalling OS X and restoring.  When this happened with the Apple 2017 keynote video, I called the Apple tech support line after missing it and opened another case.  They escalated my case to a specialist who blamed the situation on third party software and didn't provide a solution.  She said I could call back in for a more detailed session but they would require I uninstall all non-Apple software to do this.  They said I was putting too much strain on the Mac by running too many programs at the same time and having so many windows open.  She actually suggested my running Terminal and using ssh to log into a remote Linux system was a cause.  This just sends characters between the two systems and causes little to no "strain" on the system compared to running graphic based applications.  Finally, I disconnected everthing but the keyboard and track pad and ran the keynote from Safari with Safari the only open application (normally, I have Safari running on an Apple Thunderbolt display).  It still got into the sleep loop and the iMac actually crashed completely!

I don't know what to do.  Has anyone else had this problem?  I can watch the keynote on the iPad and the 2011 Mac Book Pro using Safari with no problems.  I just tried playing the keynote from Chrome on the iMac without the iMac crashing.  I think it's a problem with the current version of Safari And/or the iMac Retina!

HELP, SOMEBODY, PLEASE!
