Spotty GPS affecting workouts

Hi All, I had been using my iPhone to track outdoor walks, and had started with the new Series 3 with GPS. However, the Apple Watch seems to have spotty GPS, that is resulting in less distance getting recorded during workouts. What used to be a 4 mile is recorded as 3.25 to 3.4 miles. Is anyone else having similar issues?
