Can I use a sticker on my cracked trackpad?

So, I just broke my trackpad as I pressed on it too hard. I've done some research and turns out, I'd have to pay from £100-£200 to replace not only the cracked trackpad, but the keyboard too (even though it works extremely fine).

I don't want to spend that much, so I was wondering if it would be okay to just put a sticker on top, so that it would look fine?

I'm worried that the crack would expand overtime, & ruin the MacBook..

Get it fixed. Meanwhile, use a BlueTooth or USB mouse/track pad.

How on earth could you have pressed hard enough on the track pad to crack it?

If the trackpad already doesn't work, no, putting sticker on it isn't going to hurt it any further. It also is not going to stop it from spreading further than the trackpad itself; that is, the crack on the trackpad isn't going to expand out to other parts of the top case.
