Why are my documents in iCloud now opening in g...

When I open any Microsoft document (word, excel, PowerPoint etc) saved in my iCloud folders (or ’Files’ as its now called) on my iPhone or iPad, Google Drive opens up and I’m required toldto save the document there before I can proceed. Why is this happening and what can I do to stop it?  I don’t want to have duplicate documents saved across multiple cloud accounts.
