In Keychain Access "My Certificates" window is ...

Computer: 13" MacBook Pro mid-2012

OS version: 10.10.5

After having much trouble connecting to VPN service (ExpressVPN – error message is "Unable to load certificate"), customer service directed me to Keychain Access, and asked what was in "my certificates." The window is entirely empty. He says a new keychain needs to be installed and sent me this link for instructions:

Though I've had a look at the article, I thought I ought to check with people here before I exposed my computer or myself to aggravation, or worse.

If this is an at all familiar issue, I would most appreciate your thoughts.
