syncing photos

I am trying to sync all 24000 photos from my mac Photos library to my iPad.  I select all photos and albums but it only syncs 8-9000 then says its done.  Any ideas???

Consider yourself lucky. I have  22000 photos on my Mac and only 432 will sync. I have tried set up as new iPad, Power cycling iPad and Mac, Repairing Photos library, Deleting Apple TV and iPod cache. Nothing works I think this a bug in IOS 11. This all started after upgrade from IOS 10. I'm going to Genius Bar Wed to get the *** downgraded to 10.

Fortunately I have a totally independent backup of all my photos. I did this after photos lost about 300 originals but strangely the thumbnails remained. I do not use iCloud for storage  as I do not trust it. I strictly use iTunes to sync. I don't know if this is any help but there a number of people with the same problem.

perhaps if we all make enough noise Apple will fix this.
