Help!!

I have an ipod touch 6 and it was working just fine, it kept telling me something about restoring it. I would ignore it now its on a black screen with the charger facing the itunes logo and the link, i did all it said and my mac wont let me restore it becasue it says it cant find the software of something, i dont know what to do
