Notes not syncing on MacBook Pro with 10.12.6

I have read several post here on discussions.apple.com and tried all suggested cures to no avail: my two iDevices and the icloud.com website all sync Notes just fine, but my brand new MacBook Pro with 10.12.6 refuses to sync - except for one note I have shared with another person.

The latest discussions I read were from January 2017 - what is the current status of this?

And when you go to the Notes application on your new Mac, "Notes" under "All iCloud" is what is selected when you click to create a new Note, correct?

You are signed into iCloud on the Mac with the same Apple/iCloud ID, and Notes is selected in Preferences on all devices and the Mac, correct?

Can you think of anything unique about the one note that you shared with another person? Do you mean you literally, used the Share button to send the Note to someone else, correct? If so, then that would make sense that that particular Note would show up.

Hello - thank you for the fast reply.

Everything is configured correctly, and on my older MacBook Pro sync on the Mac worked flawless. I didn't clone the old Mac to the new one, I made a clean install and configured it all over anew. Notes sync perfectly between iDevices and the iCloud website, a new note created on the MacBook does appear on the iDevices, but edits to the note on the iDevices don't sync back to the Mac, and indeed, all the notes I have in the cloud don't appear on the Mac.

The shared note was shared with me by another person.

And again, on the sidebar, you have "Notes" selected under "All iCloud", correct?

Sorry - yes, sure. I'm not storing any notes locally since years.

Are other things syncing with iCloud, like Contacts, Calendars, etc?
