Fake Facebook requests keep popping up in my No...

Over the past two weeks I've repeatedly received notifications of friend requests from complete strangers on Facebook, which is nothing new. However, when I log onto Facebook to check them out I see no new friend requests. In fact, I just looked up three of those names and they aren't even on Facebook. I suppose they could have been deleted...Nothing happens when I click on the notifications themselves either.

I've checked my notifications settings and as far as I can tell there is nothing out of the ordinary.

Any idea what's going on?
