With OS X Yosemite v10.10.3 and later, most single-stream 4K (3840x2160) displays are supported at 60Hz operation on the following Mac computers:

  • MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015)
  • MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014)
  • Mac Pro (Late 2013)
  • iMac (27-inch, Late 2013) and later
  • MacBook Air (Early 2015)


Sorry for replying on a very old post, but did you ever get this working? I cant even get 30Hz



Did you manage to get 4k @60 Hz on a 27" iMac late 2013?

I would like to hook up 2 monitors at 3840x2160 @60Hz via 2 thunderbolt ports, but I don't know if it could work
