Trying to add song to playlist but iCloud Music...

Have just added couple of Wynton Marsalis albums to my iTunes library on MacBook...Want to add a couple of tracks to a playlist: I get this message:

"iCloud playlists can only contain songs from your iCloud music library."

So, of course, I had to cancel, otherwise my playlist gets deleted from my iCloud library and can only be accessed on my Mac (no other devices).

Surely, the whole point of iCloud Music is to access all my music across all devices.

What is the way to be able to add to my Playlists without such problem?

Thanks for any advice.

Hi,

You will get this message initially when you add new tracks. You need to allow them to be Matched or Uploaded.

This doesn't make sense. Does that mean when you cancel your Apple Music subscription, your own music, like MIDI files, or songs you've created or obtained elsewhere, will not sync with your other devices?

Why do I have to upload MY music to iCloud Library in order to add it to a regular playlist on my Mac and then sync it to my iOS devices?
