Anyone can write a script that collects your IP address. From the IP address its can look up your ISP, and can look up your town to within a few towns.

That script can then be placed it in an ad or on a dubious web site. it is really easy to do. They know Nothing about you, and you do not have a Virus.

No one can tell whether you have. a Virus from OUTSIDE your computer. never trust anyone who, unsolicited by you provides a diagnosis and a treatment at the same time.
