Deleting messages from the Apple Watch?

When I delete an iMessage/SMS message from my iPhone, it remains on the watch. There doesn't seem to be a way to delete it from the watch itself (I tried force touching, but there is no delete option). Is there something I overlooked, or should I go ahead and submit my feedback to Apple?

Unfortunately this seems to be an Apple thing. Deleting messages from one of their devices (I have an iPhone 6, iPad Mini Retina, iMac and the Watch) does not delete it from all - like email.

You have to go to the Message App on the Watch. Swipe the message you want to delete to the left and you will be given options of Details or Trash. Tap Trash and then a second confirmation will come up to trash. Tap that to delete the message.

Unfortunately you can't do this - like Notifications - where by force pressing you get the option to delete them all.

I apparently have butterfingers, I didn't mean to hit Solved just yet.

When I swipe left on a message, the timestamp is revealed, but no options appear.

I meant swipe towards the left - right to left

Just tap your message app on your watch.  You will then see all of your stored messages - slide to the left on the message from the list that you want to delete - The message will then be replaced with two options - "Details" and "Trash".  Touch Trash, and then once again touch "Trash"... the second "Trash" option comes up, giving you one last chance to cancel the trash request, in case you were going to accidentally delete the wrong message...hope this helps?

Now I see what you guys are talking about. This is on the main Messages screen showing all your conversations, and will delete the entire selected conversation. I'm talking about when you want to delete a specific message in a conversation. You can do this on an iOS device by tapping and holding on the message, tapping "More," and tapping the trash can icon in the lower right. I don't believe there is a way to do this on the watch.

Deleting them one by one from apple watch, for a hundred of messages? That's really a pain. Can't believe it's the user experience from Apple.

Only way to delete is going one by one on your message app in the Watch... Apple please give option to delete in bulk. Will make it a lot easier to delete messages.

super frustrating that "mirror my phone" does not actually work. For those of us with multiple devices it's ridiculous to have to manually delete messages from the phone, watch, iPad, Mac, and Mac book each seperately!

Ya. I think that I might be misreading your point here. But if you want to delete a whole bundle of messages from 1 person, then follow the above steps.  Go to messages - find the person from which you wish to delete all messages - then slide that section right to left - you have 2 options - Details.... and Trash - select trash - confirm trash decision.         My problem was not being able to delete a specific message from a person. I go into the chat between me and another, wishing to delete a specific sent or received message and come to find that it only gives me the time stamp or a set of 6 ( what I think, and don't understand) stupid options when double tap om the ext or picture. What's the point of thumbs uping or downing a text message. Or selecting the HaHa one. Not a clue and I don't get it.  Or how about using the pressure press screen button to try and reply? Why would I want to try and reply to the person when I'm already in the chat with the person. Just scroll down and reply.

I have the newest apple Watch that does not work as it bring is the little emotion that you can add (love, haha, thumbs down and so on).

Super frustrating and slow deleting text messages one by one on Apple Watch series 2.  Is this not a blindingly obvious opportunity to implement a force-touch option to "delete all" or "undo previous deletion(s)" or "cancel"?  Or better yet, synch with the iPhone as it implies it should.  It's a freakin' peripheral device, right?  Make it so.

I agree! It should sync with the phone. It makes no sense to have to re-delete on all 4 of my devices.

This tedious task of removing your messages -one by one- from the watch ⌚️ it's the stupidest thing ever. There's go to be a better way guys... Come on Apple, if you're able to link your watch to your phone and are able to send, receive, call and everything else from your wrist device, why in the **** we won't be able to remove ALL text messages at once.... From your iPhone we should be able to manage the watch, don't you think?
