New iMac computer needs some adjustments

Hi,

I have a new iMac and like it a lot except for small things:

1) I can't figure out how to make the font larger while composing an email message.

2) I have not figured out how to turn off the bell and the slider announcing new mail.

4) Logging in to a computer only used by me is turning into an unnecessary annoyance. Ice etc can read whatever they want anyway. What's the point?

5) Text edit seems to have lost the ability to learn spelling.

PS > I find auto spell check word substitution to be grossly inaccurate and annoying so have turned it off. Is that what turned off "Learn Spelling?"

1. Mail menu > Preferences > Fonts & Colors

2. Mail menu > Preferences > General > New message sound > None

System Preferences > Notifications > Mail

4. System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Options > Automatic Login

5. Turn on Spell Check and test.
