Logic Pro X not recognizing midi controller

I bought a good midi connector the Roland UM-ONE mk2 and am using it on my OS X 10.9.3 with Lopic Pro X. I have it connected to my digital piano which is a williams alegro 88 key and it is even recognized in my midi setup. My Roland seems to be recognized in Logic but my keybaord does not seem to be. Whenevr I get a track and try to play no sound comes out, I even changed my display mode pop up to custom and whenever i hit notes on my keyboard it stil says no input. The volume meter on my software instrument doesnt even change. Is my keyboard the problem or are there some setting in Logic or my mac that i need to adjust? Also when I want control the software instrument with my keyboard do i unplug my Midi in cable or my midi out cable? or do i leave both in? Thank You.

It shows it connected, I correctly followed the roland manual and when i clicked the down arrow on the Um One the arrow blikned during test setup like it was supposed to.

Check your cables connected to your midi keyboard.. Reverse them to test if you have them the correct way around.....

Midi does not equal Audio........

Midi is just a stream of data.... and so no audio will be heard... unless the data is sent to a software instrument...

So... to test...

Create an instrument track....

Choose a software instrument from the library....

Press a key on your midi keyboard

You should hear the software instrument play a sound if you have your midi cables connected correctly....

No sound is coming out, Like is said when i change my display mode pop up menu to custom, when i press keys on my keyboard, no sound comes out and the midi activity still shows no in no out.
