Apple Watch 3 will nit connect to Telstra

I have a new Apple Watch 3 on a personal plan. The setup of the new watch goes well until at the Telstra One Number set up part. Despite correctly entering my Telstra username and password for my post paid Telstra plan, the watch will not connect. I simply get the message "Loading...". I have tried now six times, and each time the "Loading ..." message remains and does not progress..  Any thoughts?
