iCloud Drive link not working in Finder sidebar
I've just upgraded to Yosemite on both an iMac and a Retina MacBook Pro, but I'm having problems with iCloud Drive.
When clicking the iCloud Drive Favourite in the sidebar, the link is selected (goes grey) but the Finder window doesn't change to the new location.
If I select iCloud Drive from the Go menu I get the following error message "The operation can't be completed because the item can't be found."
However, if i right-click (cmd click) on the iCloud Drive link in the sidebar and select Open in new Tab, a new tab does open with iCloud Drive correctly displayed. Although for some reason the sidebar is always turned off in this new tab.
I installed Yosemite on these macs in completely different locations, but this buggy behaviour is the same on both.
Any ideas how this might be fixed, or is it one for Apple?
Same behavior on my iMac. It worked once, I saw directories and was able to create one as well, but that was it. I presume it is either a bug, or something might be missing on the server's end.
Exact same issue with me too. I've had a look online & seems to be quite a prevalent issue. I have also ensured iCloud Drive is activated on my pgone & iPad
Same issue here, wondering if it's a migration issue or something.
Exact same problem!
Yes, same problem here. The same is true if you try to access from Finder > Go > iCloud Drive.
I was hoping everything would be in perfect working order with Yosemite, but no such luck!
Awaiting for some large files to finish copying to either relaunch the Finder, or reboot to see. I can see and access iCloud content from within apps.
I've just rebooted and the issue appears to have resolved itself on my MacBook Pro.
I can't check the iMac until Monday but hopefully it's just some sort of file permission or server issue that happens right after installation.
So the answer is... turn it off and on again.
Update/Fix: The same thing was happening to me immediately after the Yosemite upgrade - the first time I logged in after install.
I restarted and the iCloud Drive is now accessible from the sidebar in the Finder. This worked for me at least - give it a shot.
Same fix worked for me as well but now after a while the problem is back
It seems a bug related to the Finder. iCloud contents are still accessible if, say, you try to open a file from within an app (TextEdit, for example).
Add me to the list of people affected. Come to think of it, iCloud has been a bit funny on my system for awhile now...
Ok, I´ve just rebooted and it works fine. Thanks!
Rebooting also fixed this for me as well. Thanks for posting this.
I had this happen too where nothing occurred if I clicked on iCloud Drive in the sidebar. Additionally, if I used the Go menu and selected iCloud Drive I got an error along the lines of "the operation can't be completed"
Rebooting didn't help. I was eventually able fixed it by doing this:
- Apple menu
- System Preferences
- iCloud
- unchecked iCloud Drive
- quit System Preferences
- repeat steps 1-3
- check iCloud Drive
- quit System Preferences
iCloud drive works now.
