How do I close an app on my apple watch?

I know the standard answer is that I don't need to close the apps.  However, I just want to close my open apps and it shouldn't be all that hard to do.

It is not necessary to close apps on Apple Watch.

If any given app is not performing as expected, then the following steps may help:

• Install any available updates for your iPhone, Apple Watch and (via the App Store on your iPhone) for installed apps:
  • Update the iOS on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
  • Update your Apple Watch - Apple Support

• For third-party apps, remove and reinstall the app:
  • Use apps on your Apple Watch - Apple Support
  • Get help finding, installing, and using apps on your Apple Watch - Apple Support

• Restart (normally) both your iPhone and Apple Watch, turning both off together and then restarting your iPhone first:
  • Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
  • Restart your Apple Watch - Apple Support

I know it's not necessary to close apps on the watch, I just want them closed.

It just shouldn't be this difficult.
