Lacie USB C to MBP 2015 with Thunderbolt 2

Hey there guys, I have a MBP early 2015 and a Lacie Mini 4TB with USB C. I'm planning on moving all my libraries and samples I use for music production to the Lacie. Question is, should I use the USB C to USB A cable or should I get an USB C to Thunderbolt 2 adapter? I'm guessing the latter will be the faster option but I don't know if it will work. Hope somebody can help me out

I haven't heard of anyone going from USB-C to Thunderbolt, it's always the other way around, but Thunderbolt is bi-directional, so it should work. If it does, that's definitely the faster option. Ideally you could bring your Mac and the LaCie to an Apple store "genius" bar and try it out before buying, or check on the return policy for it so you can return it if it doesn't work as it should.
