Can't live stream Directv with hdmi adaptor, ip...

Ever since the last ios update I'm unable to stream live tv from my ipad to the tv with the Directv app using the apple hdmi adaptor. I get a "warning" that says to disable screen recording to stream (in case anyone's looking for that setting it's under Restrictions). Did that, but I'm still getting the same message.

 

In other words, I can watch live tv on my ipad but if I try to project what's on the ipad onto the television using the apple hdmi adaptor, it stops streaming and tells me to disable a setting (screen recording) that's already disabled.

 

I called Directv and they blamed apple. I also uninstalled and reinstalled the directv app, still no luck. Anyone else having this problem and/or anyone know of a resolution? Thank you!
