Hi Kieth! Your watch should do this automatically - there should be no delay.

It depends on the cell signal. At the coffee shop I go to it is a poor signal so it takes about 2 seconds. At a friends house who has great LTE when I left my iPhone at said coffee shop there was no delay.

Something is off with mine then.... the two times I’ve left the house without my phone I see the red X for almost a 1/4 mile after I leave my driveway
