beats pill 2.0 mic issues via bluetooth

I have a early 2015 macbook pro retina i5 and i tried linking it with my beats by dre pill 2.0 with little sound issues. But every time i try to FaceTime, Skype etc. the person I'm chatting with always hear themselves echoing. i tried everything from resetting my pram, reinstalling Yosemite, updating my pill and resetting it. I opened sound preferences and it was set to work output and input with the pill. finally i realised that the pill's mic wasn't utilised when on a call even though it would work in preferences. I troubleshooted and walked away from my laptop and the person was unable to hear me unless i came in range of the internal mic. Mind you it works perfect with my iPhone 6 plus. Is anyone else getting this issue and can someone please help. Thanks in advance.....
