a "model" file and a "vm" folder in Macintosh HD

hi every one, today i found 2 suspicious files under Macintosh HD, what are they? should i delete them? Thanks

vm should be parked under private: var. I don't know what it's doing out there.

model should be in usr: share: cups.

Don't delete either, as they're System files.

Try booting into Safe Mode: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262 and see what happens there.

im kind of sure that i didn't drag these 2 things out there cuz i never opened usr:share:cups , its kind of unusual places for them to be, i restarted and they are still out there

Hmmm, both are where they should be, but both are supposed to be invisible files. I don't know what made them visible, nor, at this point what to do about them. Were you playing with Terminal by any chance, or did any app request/get root access?

some apps' installations require password like Office and Avast, maybe they got the root access, and i also put in a Samsung SSD and enabled TRIM using Terminal, can i hide them?

You can hide/unhide as explained here: https://osxdaily.com/2009/02/25/show-hidden-files-in-os-x/

Make sure you backup, as you should anyway, before doing this, as anytime you use Terminal and work as root things can go wrong.

thank u:) actually i downloaded Sierra from AppStore again and installed it, they're still there, i hope when High Sierra comes out it will repair this

I wiped the system erased the hard drive and reinstalled the system and the vm folder is still there, I guess it's just some Apple new virtual machine stuff, maybe when u upgrade u will have it too

Apple I have this in macintosh HD / swapfile0 (only file inside)

Attempted to delete and mac OS high Sierra 10.13 prompted for admin code so I left it there as Mac OS.

Looks wrong.

If fix is needed Apple must give us a good reason or solution... waiting.
