Documents folder hidden, how do I show it? again?

Hi,

I am new here, so sorry if I´m missing important info or doing something else stupid. I just upgraded to macOS Sierra 10.12.6 (16G29). Lately, my Documents folder has suddenly become hidden without my doing. I have tried two solutions. The account is not an admin account.

Attempt 1:

Terminal command:

setfile -a V /Users/[my username]/Documents/

Tried both with capital and small v.

Attempt 2:

chflags nohidden /Users/[my username]/Documents

It sounds like iCloud Drive was automatically enabled when updating.

Add your Desktop and Documents files to iCloud Drive - Apple Support

Turn off iCloud Drive:

  1. From your Mac, go to Apple menu > System Preferences > iCloud.
  2. Next to iCloud Drive, click Options.
  3. Deselect Desktop & Documents Folders.
  4. Click Done.
