purchased a iphone 6 has passcode

what do I do to be able to use the phone? I actually have a iPhone 5 that is disabld that says connect to I tunes but ive never used this phone. it was just given to me the other day aong with a iPhone 6 that has the passcode lock. please help. I promise these phones aren't stolen.
