Renamed a folder in iCloud Drive for Windows, f...

Hey all. I recently started using iCloud Drive as my main source of syncronizing between Apple devices, and I downloaded the Windows program as well (Win7 64-bit). After setting it up, I went in to rename a particular folder within my iCloud Drive directory on my PC. When I did, I noticed almost immediately a couple files in the renamed folder vanished. I thought I was imagining it, but then to my horror, more files vanished little by little, until only one folder remained, for whatever reason, with a bunch of empty folders within it.

I thought maybe iCloud Drive was re-syncing, removing everything from within the old/renamed folder so that it can re-download to the new/renamed folder, but when I visited iCloud.com to verify this, my heart sank as I observed the same effect there - the folder was virtually empty.

Thankfully, I found all of the folders and files that vanished within my account's Restore function, and they are returning to my Drive as I type this. But the initial terror was staggering, especially considering the files were extremely important, and I wanted to bring this up as I did not find any other discussions about it. Has anyone else had this happen to them when they renamed a folder from within their PC/Mac directory? I cannot imagine a scenario when this should happen without the user manually deleting anything, which did not occur.
