How to resume High Sierra installation after co...

I recently bought a used macbook pro. I am trying to update macos to High Sierra but the installation app keeps stopping since it's too big and my connection is bad. And when it stops it doesn't resume and i have to start the installation from the beginning.

Is there a way to safely pause and resume the installation or at least resume the installation when connection breaks.
