how to download icloud photos to my mac iphoto ...

want to transfer/download some of my photos that are in iCloud and download them into my iPhoto library..help! thanks

You need Photos to sync with iCloud. That requires OS 10.10.3 or later.

If you are using OS 10.10.3 or above, open Photos, then go to Photos/Preferences/iCloud and set up syncing. Then go to System Preferences/iCloud, sign in, and check Photos syncing.

You can also do a manual download at iCloud.com/Photos. Hold down the command key while selecting the photos. Then click Download. Another option is to select a Moment, then click the Share button, and then cancelling the Share. The photos should remain selected.

You can not sync photos from iCloud ot iPhoto - you need to be using the new Photos application

You can go to iCLoud.com with Safari and download the desired photos and import to iPhoto (file menu ==> import)
