MacBook Pro 2017 Touch Bar overheating

My MacBook Pro 2017 (with touch bar) has been getting quite hot each time I charge it. It doesn't matter if I charge it using the charging cable provided or when I charge it through my display screen (Dell S2718D), it gets hot enough that I can't type on the keyboard. Today, my laptop also acted up and froze while charging. I had to unplug it and force shut down. Any one else facing similar problems or have any suggestions/solutions?

I did not have similar problems with my 2010 MacBook Pro or 2013 MacBook Air
