How do I update to OS X Yosemite?

I am currently using OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.5 since I have been using Pro Tools 10 and Final Cut Pro 7.0.3 on my mid 2009 MacBook Pro. I have recently upgraded to Pro Tools 11 which is compatible up to OS X Yosemite 10.10 as is Final Cut Pro 7.0.3 but both of these programs are not compatible with OS X 10.11. I am unable to locate a way to update my OS to 10.10 in the Mac App Store. It seems to be unavailable. How can I at this late date be able to update my OS or am I stuck with OS X 10.8.5 until this machine becomes obsolete?
