how do I determine how much wattage my 4 year o...

I am trying to determine how I can the wattage rating of my iMac computer(2004). I don't see it in the specs for the computer....Only gives the voltage and  Hz rating.......where do I find how much electricity the iMac takes out of a common household light socket?

Go to Environment - Reports - Apple. In the Environmental Reports Archive, choose a year, and then look for your exact iMac model under one of the months (the earliest iMac reports are from 2010).

Addendum

Please note that these reports contain separately defined values. The maximum power (when the computer is fully active, using all possible internal circuits/devices/units) would be higher.

Thanks for answering my question! I am trying to determine if I can safely plug both the computer and a cassette player in the same wall outlet. The computer it turns out is about....113.9 W-125.5 W idle.......and 208.9 W-215.7W CPU max. The cassette device is.....105 W-140 W........ It is your usual 125 V, 60 Hz. common household outlet....

I suppose this is safe enough.......

To begin with, you would have to check the current (A) rating for the circuit breaker (or fuse)  for the wall outlet in question.

The total maximum power for these two devices is 355.7 W according to your message. To be on the safe side, let us just double this value. That is, an assumed maximum for the computer and the cassette device of 711.4 W. A simplified current calculation (disregarding AC load type, etc), using 711.4 W / 125 V, results in (5.6912 A or) approximately 6 A. With a circuit breaker rated (for example) 15 A, there should be a sufficient margin (however, do not forget other outlets and devices possibly connected to the same circuit breaker).
