Problem with update

What problems are you having, and what have you tried (e.g. closing apps via the iPad's task bar, soft-reset/reboot of the iPad) ? Any apps not compatible with iOS 11 (assuming that's what you've updated to) you won't be able to open until if/when the developer updates them.

They just won't open. For example I've got some bookmarks in Google and they won't open up. I've tried turning my iPad off then back on (to no avail).
