Importing photos/videos from phone to Mac

I recently tried to import my photos/videos from my IPhone 6s to MacBook Pro. I have a total of 4,445 but it's only allowing me to import 2,587. At first I thought it was because I already had previous photos/videos on my ITunes but then I tried it from another computer with a newly downloaded Itunes and it showed the same number. Any idea why it won't let me download all 4,445?

Good evening C7Rhodes84,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

I understand you have some photos on your iPhone 6s that you want to import to your MacBook Pro.  The iTunes application has a syncing feature, but doesn't manage the photo library, so I can't explain the discrepancy to you.

The easiest solution is to enable iCloud Photo Library on your iPhone and on your MacBook Pro.  That will enable all of your original photos and videos to be uploaded to iCloud and accessible on your MacBook Pro.

If you don't want to use iCloud Photo Library, then the next best option would be to import the images from your iPhone to the photo library on your MacBook Pro using the Photos application.

If you aren't using Photos to manage your images in a library, then you can import your pictures to a folder using the Image Capture application.

I'll include some links below for additional information:

Take care.
