Advice re how to install download of "Photoshop...

I should be thrilled with my new Mac but I have been having difficulties with successfully installing the FREE TRIAL Photoshop Elements 15.

I downloaded it onto my computer about 5 days ago but it has sat there ever since.  It says it can't install because of the fact that the computer only permits apps purchased from the Apple Store.

Please would anybody be able to advise me as to how to proceed.

I am on a Safari 11 Browser

and. Mac OS Sierra version 10 12 6

If you press the Control key while double clicking the Photoshop elements icon in the Application folder you should get a dialogue saying that this is an app downloaded from the internet, and do you want to open it, there should be a button to Open the app.

You only need to do this once, the next time it should open without fuss.

You can also change a setting in System Preferences> Security & Privacy>General and select Allow apps from Apple and Identified Developers.

You may run in to the same problem for other third party developers, but use the Control-click method above to open those. Be careful where you download third party apps from, please try and download them directly from the developer if they are not available in the App Store.
