Series 2 Sport crown issues

Hey all, recently after I did my first long run using my apple watch, I noticed the band got sweaty (Nothing too crazy, normal amount just prolonged over the course of several miles) Ever since then, my crown as a mind of its own. It's constantly as if it's being twisted down and up, making my watch unuseable in any degree. Can't access the home screen, music control and texts are all over the place.

After cleaning the watch per Apple's guidelines, restarting by both shut down and force restart, unpairing and repairing the watch (under two different watchOs's) I have to say im very displeased at how the "sport" watch has held up during higher level activities. I've scheduled a visit with my local genius bar, but my concern is when I take this in to be looked at and potentially repaired, if there will be a charge associated with this (it's under a year since I bought it) and if this is a common issue, is it worth upgrading to the series 3?

Hi

The behaviour that you have described is consistent with an issue with the Digital Crown's operation.

If you have already followed the instructions here to clean it:

And the issue persists, then I would certainly encourage you to have your Apple Watch checked under warranty.

I'm afraid that no-one here can tell you what Apple will decide after inspecting your Apple Watch, but there are no charges for replacements that are made under warranty.

To double-check your service and support coverage, you can enter the serial number here:
