Pairing iPhone 5s with apple watch 3 GPS + cell...

Why isn’t it possible to use iPhone 5s with apple watch 3 cellular? Its okay for the GPS one but not for the cellular one? I’m really annoyed since I am planning to upgrade my phone from 5s next year but just because it cant use the cellular function it won’t pair at all? I really don’t want to downgrade to the GPS only one. Can’t apple fix this?

I'm afraid that no-one here can tell you why Apple has specified the minimum requirements as it has. You are not talking to Apple here - this is a user-based technical support community.

Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS) requires an iPhone 5s or newer with the latest version of iOS.

Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) requires an iPhone 6 or newer with the latest version of iOS 11.x. It cannot be used at all with an iPhone 5s.
